Dehesa de Campoamor, usually just called Campoamor, is the southernmost and most upmarket corner of Orihuela Costa. Campoamor takes its name from the 19th-century Spanish poet Ramón de Campoamor, who owned the estate (the dehesa) on which the resort was later developed. It has long been a summer favourite of Spanish families from Madrid and Murcia, many of whom have owned homes here for generations, and they fill the resort in July and August. Out of season it is quiet and residential, with a mix of Spanish, northern European and other international owners.
