Houses for sale in Torrevieja: prices, areas and buyer guide

Torrevieja is the busiest year-round town on the southern Costa Blanca and the place most buyers start their search. If you are looking at houses for sale in Torrevieja, you are choosing between a lively seafront town centre, quiet villa districts on the edge of the salt lakes and beach apartments within walking distance of Playa del Cura or Los Locos. Prices are still among the most accessible on the Spanish Mediterranean, services work twelve months a year and Alicante airport is well under an hour away. This guide explains the neighbourhoods, realistic 2026 prices, rental potential and the practical checks we recommend before you sign.

Torrevieja neighbourhoods: from Playa del Cura to Los Balcones

Torrevieja is a large municipality, and the right district depends on whether you want to walk everywhere or prefer space and a pool.

  • Centro and Playa del Cura: apartments close to the promenade, the port, shops and restaurants. Ideal if you do not want to drive, and the strongest area for holiday rentals. Expect older buildings next to modern blocks, so check lifts and community fees.
  • Acequión and Los Locos: residential streets a few minutes from two popular beaches, with many two-bedroom flats bought by Scandinavian and Benelux owners.
  • Aguas Nuevas, La Siesta and El Chaparral: townhouses and bungalows with communal pools, a short drive from the centre and usually cheaper per square metre.
  • Los Balcones and Lago Jardín: detached villas and quieter family streets on the edge of the pink lagoon, close to the Hospital Universitario de Torrevieja.
  • Torreblanca and La Mata: the northern end of town, with a long natural beach. See our separate guide to La Mata.

To the south, Torrevieja merges into the urbanisations of Orihuela Costa, which belong to a different municipality with its own taxes and town hall.
